1928 Austin 12/4 Clifton Tourer

This 1928 Austin 12/4 Clifton Tourer is a very good, correct example of this ever popular vintage tourer.  Immortalised by the 'Gumdrop' stories by Val Biro, the 12/4 remains one of the most recognised motor cars of this period.
Having benefited from an engine rebuild in July 2007 by Cotterell Engineering, with little subsequent mileage covered, the car drives very well.  Fitments include luggage carrier and a delightful period accessory - a 'Smoker's companion' affixed to the dashboard including a very elderly briar pipe.  The weather equipment has recently been renewed at considerable expense and includes a hood bag and the car presents extremely well.
Refurbishment has been sympathetic and much of the original black buttoned leather upholstery remains. In the file of documentation there are various bills including attention to the brakes, the aforementioned engine rebuild recent replacement tyres and an RF60 Buff Logbook dating back to 1954.

Current MOT certificate valid until November 2011.  It retains the original registration number.
