1936 Austin 10/4 Sherborne Saloon
Very well restored some years ago and extremely smart, this Sherborne Saloon is finished in Westminster Green, with a red coachline and has green interior trim. It has the benefit of a sunshine roof and the 6 light coachwork is most appealing. It has a Green log book dating back to the early 1960s along with the original driver's handbook. It retains its original West Sussex registration number. It drives very well and as with all Austin 10/4s, it is also surprisingly practical.
The introduction of the Sherborne in late 1935 was to mark the transition from the typical Longbridge perpendicular styling to the more sweeping lines that were to become commonplace in the later 1930s. Production was short lived as the new Cambridge model was introduced in August 1936. As a result the Sherborne is now quite a rare model.
