1939 MG TB Tickford Drophead Coupe
The rarest of the 'T' series MGs, the TB was only produced for just five months with a run of just 379. 60 Chassis were fitted with the extremely pretty Tickford Drophead Coupe coachwork and it is believed that less than
15 of this model survive today. Finished in cream with red leather and a well fitting, lined hood, this example formed part of a private collection for more than 30 years. During recent times it has seen little use. It is believed to have been extensively restored during the 1970s and remains in very presentable condition overall although it would benefit from some attention to the paintwork in a few areas. Mechanically the XPAG engine sounds healthy, with very good oil pressure and the car is supplied with an MOT valid until September 2012. Documentation includes four buff RF60 log books one being the original showing the car to have been first registered in Manchester on 29th December 1939. It was stationed at an RAF base during the war and stamps in the log book refer to fuel issue and mileage covered - a most interesting part of its history.
