Rolls-Royce introduced its new ‘small car’ in 1922, intended for the growing ‘owner driver’ market.  Produced alongside the 40/50 Silver Ghost and the successor to the 40/50, the Phantom, it featured a new 6-cylinder OHV engine displacing 3127cc.

 

Earlier models were fitted with two-wheel brakes, whilst the famous Rolls-Royce radiator was notable for having horizontal slats. 

 

Presented in first class order, the motor car we offer here is unique, being the only Tourer bodied by Charlesworth, the chassis being completed on 26th March 1923.

 

The car was sold to America during the 1960’s, where it was acquired soon afterwards by the Harrah Motor Museum in Utah.

 

By the end of the 1980’s the car had returned to the UK and was in the ownership of the then Chairman of the 20-Ghost Club and a most exacting restoration was undertaken by renowned specialists Ristes Motor Company. 

 

Over the ensuing years, this delightful early 20hp Rolls-Royce has been maintained fastidiously.  It is testimony to the quality of the restoration that the condition remains first class in all respects.

 

With considerable presence on the road, the car drives beautifully and is ideal for longer distance touring, being complete with a large, good quality trunk.  The car is fitted with overdrive making for relaxed motoring.   There is a rear Auster screen for the comfort of passengers.  She also has the correct, two-piece tonneau cover and hood envelope.

 

Supplied with the correct Instruction Manual, along with comprehensive history, photographs of key points of the restoration and numerous bills etc, this fine Vintage Rolls-Royce is sure to please any connoisseur of this revered marque.
