1929 Austin 7 Chummy
With more than 290,000 built between 1922 - 1939, the Austin Seven remains one of the most important cars in British social history. Thousands of motorists cut their teeth on these cars and they have an appeal which transcends the generations.
Last year the Austin Seven celebrated its centenary and enthusiasm for these cars is as strong as ever.
Presented here is a 1929 example of the ‘AD’ Series Chummy. In good sound order and running very well. Residing in California for some years, this car was repatriated in 1993.
Recently work has been carried out on the braking system. The engine was overhauled 10 years ago by a well-known Vintage car engineer and a repaint was also undertaken at this time. There is a high compression cylinder head fitted and there is also a luggage carrier.
The weather equipment is in good, serviceable order and there are various books included.
Austin Sevens benefit from support through numerous clubs and spare parts availability via a host of specialists all over the country.
