For many years the Alvis 12/50 has been one of the most revered and sought after Vintage Cars.

Introduced in 1923, the Alvis 12/50 was developed through a number of series with production eventually ceasing in 1932. Factory bodies were made by Cross & Ellis and Carbodies and a range of two and four seat models and saloons were available.

Between 1929 and 1930 the 12/50 was withdrawn when Alvis believed the future lay with their recently introduced front wheel drive models. However, these did not prove a great success and the final version of the 12/50 was introduced for the 1931 model year with the designation 'TJ'. The 12/50 TJ was joined by a more sporting version on the same chassis - the 12/60 and both models were built until 1932.

Presented for sale here is an exceptional example of the 12/60 TJ Four Seat Tourer. Totally restored by a retired senior Ford engineer and completed around five years ago, the car was acquired by the current owner in 2015 but has only been sparingly used due to health problems and is reluctantly now offered for sale.

This Alvis is correct in all details with everything fully functional including the notorious Hobson Telegauge fuel gauge! (these gauges very rarely work). Trimmed in green hide with bound Wilton carpets, the car has perfect full weather equipment and has been meticulously maintained. We have driven this car for some 50 miles and we believe it is the best example of its type available.

A number of large files of paperwork are available which include a vast number of bills etc from the restoration plus copies of the Vintage Alvis manual and wiring diagrams, RF60 Buff log book and drivers handbook.
