1931 Lagonda 2-Litre Supercharged Low Chassis Tourer

Lagonda’s Supercharged 2-Litre Low Chassis model was the ultimate development of the 2-Litre series.  Capable of in excess of 90 mph according to contemporary road tests, this was not bettered by any other pre-war Lagonda model until the introduction of the V12 model in 1938.

Supplied new by Parkers of Manchester and first registered on 10th August 1931, this motor car has a record of all previous owners with RF60 Logbooks from 1931. Between 1980 - 2016 the Lagonda remained in the care of one owner and has benefited from continuous maintenance by subsequent owners right up until this year, when almost £90,000 was spent with a marque specialist, to ensure the car was both safe and reliable.   Just a couple of months ago, a 750-mile journey was undertaken.

Unlike a number of Lagondas, this car has its original T2 body and also retains the original leather interior trim, which is a most pleasing feature. The original Zoller supercharger has been replaced by Cozette unit which provides excellent response and smooth torque.
All brightwork is in first class order, as is the weather equipment and the fabric coachwork, in its two-tone grey and black livery is extremely smart.

Numerous bills are testimony to the care that has been lavished on this fine motor car to ensure its continued enjoyment.

It’s is believed that only 14 or so original Supercharged 2 Litre models remain and this example, chassis number 9971, must be amongst the most correct and well preserved.

Motor cars of this period that can hold their own in modern traffic give confidence, while the ability to cover long distances with little effort is a joy.

A motor car to cherish, it is certain to prove most rewarding to its next custodian.
