1933 Riley March Special - requires recommissioning

This 1933 Riley March Special has been in the current ownership for the past 15 years.  Previously it spent some years in the USA where it underwent restoration.  In recent times, due to ill health, the car has seen very little use and whilst a new clutch was fitted this Summer, the car would benefit from some mechanical tlc and recommissioning before regular use commences again. This car, finished in Maroon with light tan leather upholstery.  There is a considerable amount of paperwork included.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of these rather exclusive sporting Riley's with the coachwork by Kevill Davis & March.

With the sporting credentials of the Riley Nine so well established, there was demand for specialised coachwork as well as the standard factory offerings and the ‘March Special’ was a most appealing and rather exclusive model. The bodies were built by Kevill Davis and March and available on the 1932/3 Riley Plus Ultra chassis. Intended to sit between the outright competition models and the four seat Lynx tourer, the March Special was quite an exclusive sporting car, priced at £335. Approximately 53 of this model are believed to have been built, of which some 27 are identified by both chassis and registration numbers by the Riley Register.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire a desirable sporting Riley for a realistic outlay.
