The Ruby saloon was introduced in July 1934, and, as with other Austin models, was to feature a cowled radiator, which gave the cars a stylish and more modern appearance in keeping with prevailing trends. The spare wheel was now also enclosed and a luggage rack was fitted inside this panel allowing a load of 56 lbs to be carried.

The new Ruby was to prove immensely successful and ensured the Seven remained a best seller. In total, almost 291,000 of this much loved motoring icon were produced and today the Seven’s following is as strong as ever with numerous clubs throughout the World supporting enthusiastic owners.
First registered in West Sussex in November 1934, this early example of the ‘ARQ’ Series Ruby, is a deluxe model with sunshine roof.

It remains in remarkably original condition, having been maintained and cared for over the years rather than restored. The recorded mileage currently stands at 48,420 and the previous owner, who had the car for some
13 years, believes this may well be correct. We understand there have only been three owners in total. Apparently the Ruby has always been known as ‘Elizabeth’ and hopefully her next custodian will ensure she continues to be known as such!

A very genuine and correct Austin Seven with much character, she drives well with all mechanical components feeling as they should.
