1934 Riley Nine Kestrel - NOW SOLD
Riley pioneered the ‘Aerolined’ streamline style with the Kestrel, which first appeared at the 1932 Motor Show. The ultra modern lines certainly captured the public’s imagination and the Kestrel – in many permutations – was to feature in Riley catalogues up until 1939, by which time the Company was under the control of the Nuffield Organisation.
A particularly pleasing example of the delightful Kestrel Nine, this car dates from 1934 and has the optional ENV Preselector transmission.
In the current ownership for 37 years, the car underwent a meticulous restoration to a very good standard some years ago and still presents beautifully. The interior is in keeping with the fine overall appearance and all fixtures and fittings are extremely correct and as original.
The accompanying paperwork includes an old style VE60 green logbook, plus many old tax discs, MOT certificates etc. This is certainly one of the best Kestrel Nines we have seen for some while.
