1934 Riley Nine Lynx – 46 years single ownership
When first introduced at the 1932 Motor Show, the Riley Lynx featured a two-door body with a ‘disappearing’ hood that stowed under a hinged panel. By September 1933 the Lynx was redesigned, now being a full four-seater tourer with four doors.
This particular example was registered in East Sussex in 1934 and has been in the care of its present owner since the mid 1970s. Shortly after it’s acquisition it was subjected to an extensive restoration and despite it being more than 40 years since completion, the Lynx presents well with good paintwork and a well-fitting hood and side screens.
The interior trim is in maroon leather and also remains in very good order.
Having formed part of a private collection, the car has been sparingly used although regularly maintained.
There is a large file of paperwork supplied plus a number of photos.
Running well when test driven, this Lynx felt responsive, showing good oil pressure. The gearbox was quiet with easy changing gearbox.
