1934 Wolesley Nine Saloon - Restored to an excellent standard!
1934 Wolseley Nine - Characterful Small Car
Introduced for 1934, as a four cylinder companion to the 1.3 litre 6 cylinder Hornet, the Wolseley Nine was a refined and well equipped small car. Hydraulic brakes and a four speed gearbox with synchromesh, plus pneumatic seats made for a most attractive package. The 1018cc overhead camshaft engine provided good performance for a car of this size with a top speed of 60 mph.
The example we offer here has been in the same ownership for the past 28 years. Acquired in need of restoration in 1990, it was stripped to the bare chassis and a painstaking rebuild from the last nut and bolt was undertaken, being completed 1996.
The fruits of this labour came as several concours awards, including a Wolseley Register ‘Master Class’ win.
Although it is over 20 years since the completion of the restoration, this charming small Wolseley still presents in excellent condition in all respects.
Finished in Fawn and Black, with brown leather upholstery, there is a sunshine roof and the rear panel forms a good sized luggage platform. There are photos showing the car undergoing rebuild, along with a substantial quantity of bills etc, wiring diagram and copy of the Driver’s Handbook.
A most characterful small car that always attracts considerable interest wherever it goes.
