1935 Austin 10/4 Lichfield - NOW SOLD
A best seller in the mid – 1930’s, the Austin 10/4 gained an enviable reputation for economy and dependability
Capable of almost 60 mph and with a frugal fuel consumption, it was the car of choice for thousands of families.
Today, survivors are catered for by the enthusiastic Austin Ten Drivers’ Club, making these cars a very popular choice as a practical and highly useable small prewar car.
Presented here is a ‘Lichfield’ de luxe saloon, first registered in Surrey in March 1935. In good sound running order and of presentable appearance, this Austin would appear to have been maintained and kept up, rather than undergoing major restoration.
The paintwork is patinated but this does not detract from the car’s charm and character. The interior presents well, with good maroon leather and carpets, whilst the sunshine roof is fully operational. The car drives very well, feeling remarkably willing on the hilly terrain around this area.
During the last 35 years, it would appear that less than 5000 miles have been covered, with the engine being rebored around 3500 miles ago.
A number of previous MOT Certificates are supplied on file, along with ownership history, numerous bills etc and the original Driver’s Handbook. The Austin also retains its original and distinctive Surrey registration number.
An extremely affordable entry into pre-war motoring.
