‘Bare chassis’ rebuild
1935 Morris 8 - series 1 - Four seat Tourer
One of the most successful British cars of the 1930’s, the Morris Eight was introduced in 1934 as the replacement for the original 8hp Minor. Powered by a 918cc sidevalve engine, the Eight was available as a 2 seater, a four seat Tourer and two and four door saloons.
So durable was the Eight to prove that many were still in daily use and a familiar sight on British roads right up until the 1970s.
Plenty of Eights survive and are catered for by the enthusiastic Morris Register, with excellent spares availability.
Having been the subject of a bare chassis rebuild this is a most pleasing example of this enduringly popular model. Paintwork is average but the interior is excellent and the hood is new.
An ideal introduction to pre war motoring, being simple to maintain, easy to drive and surprisingly practical.
