1936 Riley 12/4 Adelphi - Now Sold
The Adelphi was introduced late in 1935 for the ’36 season as the replacement for the former Stelvio model. A stylish 5 seater saloon, it was available with two choices of engine – 15 hp 6 cylinder, or the popular 12 hp 4 cylinder unit.
In later years, as wear and tear took its toll, many examples were to fall victim to special builders and as a result the Adelphi is now quite a rarity.
This is example is in remarkably original order and seemingly essentially unrestored. The brown leather interior trim has survived particularly well, and has a delightful patina. Everything is functioning correctly and the car has been the subject of much expenditure to ensure it remains in good mechanical condition throughout. It is essentially to original factory specification.
A substantial number of bills are supplied along with the original drivers handbook and the distinctive registration number is retained on the car.
An ideal Riley to use, enjoy and sympathetically improve.
