1937 Wolseley Super Six 25hp Series II - NOW SOLD
Impressive, powerful and luxurious, the 25hp Super Six was the flagship model of the Wolseley range from 1935 – 39. Powered by a 3.5 litre engine developing 100 bhp, the Super Six 25hp was found to be capable of over 80 mph when road tested by ‘The Autocar’ magazine in February 1936. They also enthused about the models comfort and stability, as well as the high level of equipment and good luggage capacity.
Today, less than 12 examples are reported to have survived and we are pleased to offer a truly fine example for sale. Originally registered in Aberdeen, this car was the subject of a high quality restoration some years ago and it remains in exceptional condition including the deep red hide upholstery, headlining and beige carpets. The engine underwent a rebuild by a well known MG specialist in 1998 and only a small mileage has subsequently been covered. The large history file details expenditure and evidence of further refurbishment with considerable sums having been spent.
On the road the Wolseley is a pleasure to drive, coping easily with the cut and thrust of modern traffic, with its brisk acceleration and hill climbing ability instilling confidence.
There is the correct Driver’s Handbook, plus copies of servicing data and parts lists on file. The original Aberdeen registration number remains with the car. A copy of the book 'Wolseley Super Sixes: A Profile' by Stuart McCallum is also included and interestingly the author was the previous owner of this motor car.
A very rare opportunity, this fine Wolseley exudes quality and character.
