1938 MG VA Tourer - Now Sold
Introduced in 1937 the VA Series - or One and a Half Litre as it was officially known, was to be the replacement for the NB Series Magnette. Powered by a twin carburettor version of the Wolseley 12/48 engine, the MG VA was available in Tourer, Saloon and Drop Head Coupe versions.
Presented here is an exceptional example of the Tourer, having been the subject of a six year rebuild from the bare chassis, which was completed during 2014. Finished in midnight blue with grey leather trim, the car has
new weather equipment including hood bag and tonneau cover. The car is presented to show standards in all respects and drives faultlessly.
These larger MGs are well suited to continental and longer distance touring and events and offer ample accommodation and luggage space.
The car retains its original Surrey registration number and is supplied with an extensive list of all work carried out (which is too comprehensive to list here), plus much information on surviving VA models plus extensive
photographs and history.
Having had extensive personal experience of this model (I restored one over 30 years ago), this is one of the very best examples I have encountered for many years and it is sure to appeal to a connoisseur of the marque.
