1938 Morris Eight Series II Four Seat Tourer

Making its debut in September 1934, the Morris Eight was the replacement for the original 8hp Minor. Powered by a 918cc sidevalve engine, the Eight was available in two and four door Saloon versions and also as a two or four seat Tourer.

In late 1937, the range was updated with a slight restyle to bring it in line with the other models in the Morris range. These changes were cosmetic and included the fitment of 'Easiclean' wheels in place of the previous 'Magna' wire spoked ones and the radiator cowl was now painted in body colour, with chromed slats.

Priced at £128, the Four Seat Tourer was a very popular model and, as with all Morris Eights, it was to be a familiar sight on Britain's roads for many years.

The example we offer here was first registered in Berkshire in April 1938 and retains its original registration number. Restored some years ago, it has been locally owned recently and well maintained.

The interior trim and weather equipment are in excellent condition and the electrics are now 12 volt, giving easier starting and improved lighting.  There is also a luggage rack fitted.

With a strong following and the support of the Morris Register, the Morris Eight is an enjoyable car to own and also surprisingly practical and ideal for a family or large dog!
