1953 MG YB - Now Sold
The MG One and a Quarter Litre, to give the model its correct title, was produced from 1947 – 53. The final series, designated ‘YB’ was introduced late in 1951 featuring such improvements as 15” wheels and twin leading shoe front brakes, front anti-roll bar and a hypoid rear axle. The YB was to continue until being superseded by the ZA Magnette during October 1953.
Presented here is what must be one of the best of this model available. The subject of an extensive restoration at huge expense, the car is worthy of close inspection, as the work carried out was to a very high standard, being completed 4 years ago. The car is correctly finished in Maroon with Beige Leather trim, the carpets and headlining have also been renewed.
The work is too extensive to list here, but all is recorded and there are photographs, receipts and much information on this model on file.
The original RF60 logbook is included, attesting to the distinctive Hertfordshire registration number. The car is recorded on the MG Car Club Y Register and has been much admired at events during the past few years.
A rare opportunity to acquire an MG suitable for family use, in show condition, that is also eminently practical.
It is offered at substantially less than the cost of its restoration and is certain to give much pleasure to its next owner.
