1955 Austin-Healey 100 Series BN2

With a top speed in excess of the then magic ‘ton’ and with sleek styling by Gerry Coker, the Healey 100 caused a sensation at the 1952 London Motor Show.

The design so impressed Leonard Lord (MD of Austin) and a deal was struck with Healey to put the car into serious production with bodies made by Jensen Motors and the car became the ‘Austin-Healey’.  Mechanical components came from the Austin A90 Atlantic.

The second series, designated BN2 was fitted with a four-speed gear box with overdrive and this model ran until July 1956 with just 4,604 produced including the 100M model with the bulk of production destined for overseas, especially North America.

This Austin Healey 100 BN2 is a comparatively rare UK RHD home market model, correctly finished in carmine red, and was built on 4th November 1955 according to the Heritage Certificate supplied.  Factory fitted equipment included wire wheels, laminated windscreen and heater.

She has been the subject of an extensive restoration whilst in the current ownership, the work was completed within the last 4 years and the car presents in first class order in all respects.  The trim as original is in red leather, and numerous bills for parts used during the restoration are provided.

She is worthy of close inspection this fine Austin-Healey has great appeal and will be ideal for numerous events.
