The subject of a ‘last nut and bolt’ rebuild from the bare shell over a five year period, this example of the much-loved Frogeye Sprite is in first class order throughout.
The meticulous restoration included new panels including wheel arches and bonnet and stages of the work are fully documented with photographs.
Mechanically, all is in excellent order with only a minimal mileage having been covered since completion of the work. A MklV Sprite 1275cc engine and rebuilt gearbox are fitted, as is the later braking system. The wire wheels are shod with almost new Pirelli tyres and the hood and tonneau cover are new, as is the interior trim.
A substantial file of paperwork is supplied, together with the album of photos of the restoration in progress. A Heritage Certificate is included,
showing the car to have been dispatched from the Works on 29th February 1960, destined for Main Dealers Tesseyman’s Ltd of Scarborough, where it was supplied to its first owner, a Mr. J.A. Crichton, the following month. A copy of the original Warranty Form is also included.
An exceptional Frogeye that is particularly eye catching, it is ready for enjoyable motoring in the coming Spring and Summer months.
