One of the best looking sports cars of its era, the MGA featured curvacous styling which won numerous admirers. Representing a major leap forward in design from the TF that it replaced in 1955, the MGA was to prove enormously popular on both sides of the Atlantic. Available in fixed head coupe and roadster forms, the MGA has proved a most enduring sports car with numerous enthusiasts worldwide. Capable of a genuiene 100 mph allied to sure footed roadholding - the MGA made a name for itself in competition - with many examples being used for rallying and racing with great success.
Beautifully presented in the striking and correct period colour of Iris Blue – this 1960 MGA 1600 underwent a most exacting rebuild from the bare chassis which was completed in 2013 following its import from the USA. Full documented photographic history of the rebuild is included in a well-presented file. The car retains its original engine and has recently had the carburettors rebuilt and a stainless-steel exhaust fitted. The heritage certificate shows the car to have been built on the 13thJune 1960 and despatched the following day bound for Maryland. The rebuild included a conversion to RHD and fitment of new chrome wire wheels.
We have inspected this car most carefully and the body fit is excellent in all respects. The car has been serviced in the last month and is ready to be enjoyed. Nowadays as with all MGs, spares and support are available from both the MGCC and MGOC and there are numerous club events all over the UK in which to participate.
