The ultimate development of the sleek and exclusive Jensen 541, the 'S' model featured a wider track which allowed for a considerably roomier cockpit and improved road holding. The revised frontal styling was given a more conventional slanting radiator grille and the specification included a Salisbury limited slip differential. Powered by a modified version of the 4 litre Austin DS5 straight six engine fitted with triple SU carburettors the 541S was amongst the highest performance GT cars of its era.

This model was also notable for being the first British car to boast seatbelts as a standard fitment and another 'first' was the use of Dunlop disc brakes all round.  A Motorola radio was also a standard fitment. Between 1960 and 1963 just 127 examples of the 541S were built and only 20 were fitted with manual transmission with overdrive - this car being one such.

Finished in metallic red with its original deep red leather upholstery and with just 52,800 miles to its credit, this excellent and rare Jensen has had just three previous owners. It was off the road in storage between 1985 to 2016 and was then carefully recommissioned and a high quality repaint carried out.

This car has recently had its overdrive unit fully reconditioned and comes with a new MOT certificate valid until September 2020.  She has recently had four as new tyres fitted and a brake overhaul.

A very rare opportunity to acquire a Jensen 541S with known history from new and such low recorded mileage.

First registered in Surrey in May 1961, the car retains its original registration number and is offered with a large file of documentation plus the original and extremely rare instruction manual. Also included are several early service bills dating back to 1964.
