Sold by us a few months ago, however, a sudden house move and lack of available garaging has seen her return.
The most successful of the TR models, the TR6 was produced between 1968 – 76. Powered by a smooth 6-cylinder 2.5 litre engine, the TR6 was a formidable performer in its day, being capable of accelerating from 0 – 60 mph in just 8.2 seconds and having a top speed of 120 mph. Although some 94,619 TR6s were produced, 86,249 were exported, so just 8370 were sold in the UK.
The TR6 still retained the rugged character of its forebears, but the sleek styling by Karmann was at the forefront of modernity when it made its debut in 1968.
This fine example of the earlier 150 bhp TR6, has been cosseted by its owner for the past 12 years and meticulously cared for. She is finished in Old English White with superb panel fit.
Fitted with overdrive, this original UK home market car has many desirable upgrades which include full leather MX5 seats by Paul Bishop, Spax rear shock absorber conversion, oil cooler, stainless steel exhaust system and Revotec electric cooling fan.
A vast file of paperwork includes workshop manuals, numerous bills and Heritage certificate showing the car to have been built on 5th January 1970.
