Few MG TCs can boast such fascinating provenance.

Supplied new by Lane's Garages of Melbourne, Australia, this delightful MG TC spent some 68 years in Australia before returning to the United Kingdom in 2017. The original Lane's dealer plaque remains proudly fitted to the dashboard today, a charming reminder of its early history.

The car benefits from an extensive and well-preserved history file. Ownership and mileage records survive from its Australian years, while a substantial collection of invoices, correspondence, period photographs and restoration records documents the car's life over many decades.

Accompanying the MG are its original handbook, toolkit and jack, together with a tonneau cover. A new spare set of leather seat covers is also included should a future owner wish to install them.

Taken off the road during the 1960s, the TC was later the subject of a comprehensive restoration. This included a new ash frame, extensive mechanical rebuilding and careful attention to detail throughout. Importantly, the original leather seat upholstery was retained, the owner feeling its quality, patina and character were simply too good to replace.

Today the car presents beautifully, offering an appealing balance of originality and careful restoration. Following completion of the work, it has seen relatively little use but has recently been serviced and enjoyed on the road once again.

Finished in black with green interior trim, this is a particularly attractive and well-documented MG TC, offering a wonderful combination of provenance, originality and usability.
