The Singer Nine Le Mans was powered by the excellent 972cc overhead cam engine, in a higher state of tune than previously, and developed 34 bhp. A close ratio gearbox , underslung chassis, twin spare wheels and 12 gallon external fuel tank made for an impressive looking small sports car which was to prove highly successful in trials, hillclimbs and rallies.

The Nine Le Mans was a direct competitor to the MG Midget of the period and a friendly rivalry always existed between owners of the two makes.
