Pre War Prescott with the Vintage Minor Register
July - A great weekend at 'Prewar Prestcott'
This is an event and club we would highly recommend you join. Hosted by The Vintage Minor Register which not only caters for the 1928 - 1934 OHC and sidevalve Morris Minors, but also the small MGs of that period. They now ALL pre-1940 motor car are now welcomed. This particular event had around 150 cars and like-minded and passionate members who were extremely welcoming.
The heady aroma of Castrol ‘R’ combined with the ambience of Prescott ensured a magical experience. The sun shone and picnics were enjoyed in the paddock. We met old chums and made many new motoring friends and admired such a wonderful array of cars. We climbed Prescott Hill (non-competitive) and toured the Cotswolds, driving 60 miles including many single-track roads criss-crossing wonderful Cotswold hills and stopping to a picnic lunch on private lawns and finishing with cream tea at Stanway House with its amazing 200 feet fountain. Seeing an amazing mix of Talbot, Lagonda, Alvis, Riley, Wolseley Hornet, Bugatti, Jaguar and Frazer Nash and many other Austin Sevens congregate and climb hills together was great fun – although some did struggle in the heat.
Our A7 Nippy didn’t let us down though. In all, a most memorable event and definitely one of the very best in the annual Vintage motoring calendar.
