Produced during 1931–32, the Alvis 12/60 was the final development of the marque’s highly successful 12/50 series, benefiting from a number of worthwhile improvements including knock-off wire wheels, a tachometer and the lively 1645cc engine with twin SU carburettors. Just 229 examples of the 12/60 were produced, making them one of the rarer Vintage Alvis models today.

This attractive Cross & Ellis-bodied Sports Saloon has clearly been cherished by enthusiastic owners over many decades. Restored some years ago, it has never lost the character and charm that make Vintage motor cars so appealing, and today presents as an honest, well-maintained example with an attractive period patina.

Original saloon-bodied Alvis models of this period are becoming increasingly scarce, particularly those retaining their original identity and accompanied by such an extensive history file.
